Media and News

I AM HAPPY TO REPORT THAT ONE OF MY MOST POPULAR AND INSPIRATIONAL PAINTINGS (& personal favorite of mine) IS NOW AVAILABLE AS A PRINT! THE ORIGINAL, "JESUS IS IN YOUR BOAT," WAS A COMMISSIONED PIECE FOR A LOCAL CHURCH ELDER, AND HAS BEEN VIEWED VERY FAVORABLY BY MANY WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRYING TIMES DURING THE ONGOING PANDEMIC, BUT FOUND STRENGTH IN SPIRITUAL COMFORT. I'M EXTREMELY PROUD THAT MY PAINTING WAS ABLE TO CAPTURE THAT POSITIVE FEELING ONE GETS FROM KEEPING THE FAITH.

THE PRINT OF "JESUS IS IN YOUR BOAT"/'TRUST JESUS" IS AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AND TO ORDER AT THE BEAUTIFUL RELIGIOUS ART SITE:

George Mattingly--2020

This year, I became a member at two local, professional, and very active art associations: The Granby Art Association and the West Hartford Art League, and both have been very supportive of my rediscovered passion for painting.

My quest to learn more about art continues, and I am a current student at the studios of Shauna Shane, Bill Simpson, and Jean Manzelli, in addition to checking out many videos and reading a lot of "how to.." books.

Three new paintings have been added to my gallery..."Salmon Brook, Behind the dog park," "Somewhere on Nob Road," and "Spring Morning at Granbrook." All are oil on linen and are available to view or purchase through my new international store/SHOPIFY website:  www.georgemattinglyart.com, as well as at galleries and receptions I  am an exhibitor at.

A recent juried exhibit which feature my artwork titled "Low Tide, Nova Scotia," was submitted to the Marin Society of Artists for their "Artists Vision 2021" show in San Rafael, CA and was successful at being included in their current show, which can be can be viewed online from March 1- May 1st.

More locally, I was accepted to display my paintings at the Simsbury Public Library virtual Art show, and am featured in the West Hall section of the show May 1-May 31st. More info is here: https://www.simsburylibrary.info/services/art/

Also, I recently spoke with Rich Richardson, artisan, founder and curator of the Three Sisters Sanctuary in Goshen, MA and am thrilled and honored that he would like to include some of my pieces at the new gallery concept that he is developing in conjunction with a very nice b and b on the grounds. More news will be forthcoming soon!  And if you have never been to the Three Sisters Sanctuary, it is well worth the ride! Very unique and creative sculptures, and much, much more..there's even a fire breathing dragon!

I am continuing to send applications to different galleries to show my artwork, while at the same time, am enjoying my rekindled passion and creating more.

As always, I welcome the opportunity to talk about my work and give information. Please contact me if you might be interested in a specific painting as a print..it might be just the time to "get a Mattingly!!"   :)

As always, thank you for your comments and support.

Enjoy the art!

George
