MEDIA AND NEWS

I AM HAPPY TO REPORT THAT ONE OF MY MOST POPULAR AND INSPIRATIONAL PAINTINGS (& personal favorite of mine) IS NOW AVAILABLE AS A PRINT! THE ORIGINAL, "JESUS IS IN YOUR BOAT," WAS A COMMISSIONED PIECE FOR A LOCAL CHURCH ELDER, AND HAS BEEN VIEWED VERY FAVORABLY BY MANY WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRYING TIMES DURING THE ONGOING PANDEMIC, BUT FOUND STRENGTH IN SPIRITUAL COMFORT. I'M EXTREMELY PROUD THAT MY PAINTING WAS ABLE TO CAPTURE THAT POSITIVE FEELING ONE GETS FROM KEEPING THE FAITH.

THE PRINT OF "JESUS IS IN YOUR BOAT"/'TRUST JESUS" IS AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AND TO ORDER AT THE BEAUTIFUL RELIGIOUS ART SITE:

GEORGE MATTINGLY--2022

One big news note to report...my Shopify store is now open, and the link to visit and shop or buy (financing is set up as well) is:

Artbygeorgebmattingly.com

or you can click on the chain link icon at the bottom of pages of this website, and it will open the store site for you directly!

Please feel free to browse the site; it shows the most recent painting, the paintings on sale, merchandise, and all of the gallery paintings.  Prints of any of the paintings can be ordered as well. I'm thrilled when my art is appreciated and finds a new home! Also of note...there is a "Shop" link here as well..that is a work in progress, and not up and running and active yet.

And other news...

I remain active in art associations: locally, the Granby Art Assn, and the West Hartford Art League, and both have been very supportive of my rediscovered passion for painting. Additionally, I recently joined the Provincetown Art Association, as I have ties with and fond memories from the Cape, and appreciate the artist community and  galleries in the town.

My quest to learn more about art continues, and I am a current student at the studio of Shauna Shane, and am appreciative of feedback and pointers on different techniques from her. I also am constantly checking YouTube videos, following other artists and always reading "how to" information!

The latest painting to be done is a scene called "Old Lyme Shores," and I hope this one is as well received as an earlier similar one! Right before that, I was practicing doing some portraits, as yet another subject matter I'd like to learn, and two portraits were added to my gallery...""Blonde with a Red Flower," and "Portrait of a Brunette." These paintings have actually been a distraction from a large piece that I have been working on, soon to be unveiled when it's just the right time!

The next big event coming up is the SuperFine Art Festival at Gallery Place, 713 7th Street NW in Washington DC, and I'm really looking forward to the experience of a show of this magnitude. It is very heavily marketed by the show owners/producers to art collectors and the art community, and other shows in other cities they have held these fairs (NY, Miami, Seattle, San Diego) all appear to be very well attended, with a limited number of artists. I'll update this page as it happens...and it's only about a 7 hour drive if anyone wants to come to the show!

So many positive things happening, and I am truly thankful.

Enjoy the art!
