Media and News

I AM HAPPY TO REPORT THAT ONE OF MY MOST POPULAR AND INSPIRATIONAL PAINTINGS (& personal favorite of mine) IS NOW AVAILABLE AS A PRINT! THE ORIGINAL, "JESUS IS IN YOUR BOAT," WAS A COMMISSIONED PIECE FOR A LOCAL CHURCH ELDER, AND HAS BEEN VIEWED VERY FAVORABLY BY MANY WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRYING TIMES DURING THE ONGOING PANDEMIC, BUT FOUND STRENGTH IN SPIRITUAL COMFORT. I'M EXTREMELY PROUD THAT MY PAINTING WAS ABLE TO CAPTURE THAT POSITIVE FEELING ONE GETS FROM KEEPING THE FAITH.

THE PRINT OF "JESUS IS IN YOUR BOAT"/'TRUST JESUS" IS AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AND TO ORDER AT THE BEAUTIFUL RELIGIOUS ART SITE:

George Mattingly--2020

This year, I became a member at two local, professional, and very active art associations: The Granby Art Association and the West Hartford Art League, and both have been very supportive of my rediscovered passion for painting.

My quest to learn more about art continues, and I am a current student at the studios of Shauna Shane, Bill Simpson, and Jean Manzelli, in addition to checking out many videos and reading a lot of "how to.." books.

The latest painting to be done is titled "Old Lyme," and it has been well received,. Let me know what you think (I'm always on facebook!!!) This painting is an oil on linen, like my others, is available to view or purchase through my new international store/SHOPIFY website:  Artbygeorgebmattingly.com.

On NOVEMBER 7th (new date when Henri isn't around!!! ) from 1:00 to 4:00, I will be hosting an Open House Art Show at the Salmon Brook Park Community Bldg in "The Gathering Room."  All of my paintings and select merchandise will be on display and for sale, and harpist Chaela Franck will provide nice music to browse by!  Additionally, there will be light refreshments and drinks, and everyone is welcome. I will be on site to say hello, and am looking forward to seeing and talking to many old friends as well as new ones! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Also, I recently spoke with Rich Richardson, artisan, founder and curator of the Three Sisters Sanctuary in Goshen, MA and am honored that he would is includeing some of my pieces at the new gallery concept that he is developing in conjunction with a very nice b and b on the grounds. I am one of three artists whose works have been selected to be on the walls of the bnb, and future plans for the paintings include art shows that might be held monthly on the grounds.  And if you have never been to the Three Sisters Sanctuary, it is well worth the ride! Very unique and creative sculptures, and much, much more..there's even a fire breathing dragon!

November 19, 20, and 21, I will be a first time exhibitor at the Paradise City Arts Festival in Marlborough, MA and I'm really looking forward to the show!

I am continuing to send applications to different galleries to show my artwork, while at the same time, am enjoying my rekindled passion and creating more.

As always, I welcome the opportunity to talk about my work and give information. Please contact me if you might be interested in a commissioned piece or a specific painting as a print..it might be just the time to "get a Mattingly!!"   :)

As always, thank you for your comments and support.

Enjoy the art!
